Safety groups issue heavy-weather warning

Walkers, anglers and surfers are being reminded of the dangers of high tides this bank holiday weekend as strong winds hammer parts of the country.

Irish Water Safety is urging the public to be vigilant around water and always wear life jackets if going out on the water.

On average, 160 people drown in Ireland each year.
