Rescuers search for girl in River Shannon

Search teams are combing the River Shannon in Limerick after a teenage girl was spotted in the water last night.

The girl was seen entering the water on Howley's Quay just before midnight when she disappeared beneath the surface about ten minutes later.

Local search and rescue teams, the Gardaí and the Coastguard Helicopter are involved in the search operation.
