A remand prisoner with known links to Ireland has gone on the run in the UK.
Thomas Quinn, 30, was on remand in Liverpool when he fled from Aintree University Hospital where he was receiving treatment for a hand injury.
He had been awaiting a court appearance for robbery offences.
Prison officers reported that Quinn, of Hall Lane, Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester had escaped from their custody at about midnight yesterday.
He is described as being white, 5ft 9ins tall and of slight to medium build with brown hair and a tribal tattoo on his right arm.
He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms and navy Adidas trainers and had a bandage on his right hand.
Quinn is known to have links to various locations across Ireland, Greater Manchester and North Wales.
An investigation into the full circumstances of the incident is under way.
