Reilly: Halligan should consider 'alternative arrangements for himself'

Fine Gael's deputy leader James Reilly has said Independent TD John Halligan should consider making "alternative arrangements for himself".

James Reilly (pictured) said such a move was the only alternative if the junior minister does not accept proposals for the existing cath lab at University Hospital Waterford.

The former health minister says the offer of extended hours is a reasonable one based on the report of Dr Niall Herity.

He said the Waterford TD should accept the proposal, as Health Minister Simon Harris cannot go any further.

"Either John Halligan realises this is as far along the road as it's going to go, and buckles down to doing the job he's been put in position to do as (Training and Skills Minister), or make alternative arrangements for himself," he said.
