Raid uncovers €2.8m worth of drugs in Cavan

Around 143kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €2.8m was seized in Cavan today.

The drugs were uncovered in an intelligence-led joint operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Revenue’s Customs Service.

A 36-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were arrested and are being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 2006 at Ballyconnell Garda Station.

A 46-year-old man was also arrested during a follow-up operation and is being detained in Cavan Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 2006 in relation to the same offence.
