Public service pay cuts fair, insists Cowen

Taoiseach Brian Cowen is today insisting that pay cuts across the public service have been fair.

The Government has come under fire after reducing the pay cut for 600 higher-paid public servants.

However, the Department of Finance says it is to be fair because their bonus payments are included.
