Unions representing psychiatric nurses are due to hold a final round of talks with the HSE at the Labour Relations Commission today.
SIPTU and the Psychiatric Nurses Association say they are hoping a resolution can be reached this afternoon to end the long-running dispute over compensation for nurses who are attacked at work.
However, they say their members will escalate their industrial action if an agreement isn't reached.
The nurses are already refusing to work overtime as part of a campaign for a decent compensation scheme.
The HSE says it has offered them the best deal it could secure from private insurance companies, but SIPTU and the PNA say this scheme is not satisfactory.
