PSNI: Device under police officer's car a viable bomb

Police in the North have confirmed that the device found under a police officer's car in Belfast earlier today, was a viable bomb.

A spokesperson for the PSNI has said it is very fortunate that it was detected before it detonated.

It is understood the policeman was reversing out of his driveway this afternoon when the bomb fell off.

The Police Federation of Northern Ireland said that it shows "a complete disregard for the life of the officer and his relatives."
