Transport Minister Leo Varadkar says he is not yet convinced that problems with the new national driving licence system have been sorted out.
Massive queues, delays and even centres in Dublin closing for a week have dogged the system in its first weeks of operation.
Minister Varadkar says these were teething problems but will take a little longer to work out.
"Extra staff has now gone in, there's an informal booking arrangement in some local authorities and there will be a more formalised booking arrangement in the next month," he said.
"I'm not 100% satisfied that it's all sorted. I did meet the interim COE of the RSA to discuss this on Monday.
"But certainly this week there have been many fewer problems than in previous weeks, and I'm confident that any remaining issues can be ironed out in the next week or two."
