The discovery of a woman’s body today in an upstairs bedroom of a house is being treated as suspicious.
Gardaí found the remains in the house at Closegate Street in Waterford city at around 1am this morning.
It is believed the 51-year-old woman had marks around her neck when found by gardaí responding to a call from an ambulance crew.
State Pathologist Marie Cassidy was called to the scene to carry out a post mortem examination.
The house has been sealed off for forensic examination by experts from the Garda Technical Bureau.
