Prisoner escapes during visit to St James' Hospital

A prisoner is at large in Dublin after escaping while in custody this morning.

The prisoner escaped while being escorted to St James Hospital.

The Irish Prison Service says Gardaí were notified immediately and given all the relevant details about the prisoner.

The IPS is currently investigating the circumstances of the escape.
