Price survey shows petrol and diesel at record high

The cost of petrol and diesel in Ireland has reached a record high.

A new price survey from the AA shows that the average cost of a litre of petrol is now 130.5c - an increase of 6.6c since May.

Diesel is up by more than 10c a litre to an average of 142.9c.

The price of petrol has gone up by 13% since last October, while diesel has seen a jump of 30%.

The AA is also predicting tough months ahead with little prospect of cheaper prices at the pumps.
