President to visit Norway

President Mary McAleese will travel to Norway next week for a three-day state visit.

The trip will include meetings with Prime Minister Jens Stoltenbert and a lunch hosted by King Harald and Queen Sonja at the Royal Palace in Oslo.

President McAleese will also lay a wreath at the National Monument at Akershus Fortress and view the Sandvik Collection at the National Library of Norway.

As part of the visit, Enterprise Ireland will host a business breakfast before the President addresses the Nobel Institute on the experience of the Irish peace process.

Mrs McAleese is travelling with her husband Dr Martin McAleese and Agriculture Minister Trevor Sargent and the party will round the trip off in Trondheim at a seminar on renewable energy.
