Poll shows growth in support for fiscal treaty and Fine Gael

A new opinion poll suggests the referendum on the Fiscal Compact Treaty will be passed.

The Red C survey for Sunday Business Post shows 49% of respondents saying they would vote Yes, with 33% opposing the treaty and 18% undecided.

This compares to a similar Red C poll earlier in the month which reported 44% support the treaty, with 29% opposed.

Meanwhile, support for Fine Gael has climbed four points to 34%.

Sinn Féin is holding on to second place, unchanged on 18%.

Labour and Fianna Fáil are down one point to 15% and 16% respectively.
