Plan to exit bailout without overdraft facility approved

TDs have approved the government's plan to exit the bailout without an overdraft facility.

The Dáil voted 95 to 25 to back the decision not to seek precautionary loans

Social protection minister Joan Burton said the clean exit is a vote of confidence in how the coalition has managed Ireland's economy.

She said that Ireland is in a better place because of the deals reached by the government to ease the bailout.
