Pipe bomb found in Co Louth made safe

A pipe bomb found in Dundalk in Co Louth this morning has been made safe by the army bomb disposal team.

They were called out to a house at the Blackwater Estate at 4.30am.

A controlled explosion was carried out at the scene, which was then declared safe at 5.15am.

All components of the device have now been handed over to the Gardaí.
