Petrol bomb thrown into Dept of Finance HQ

Gardaí are investigating an incident in which a suspected petrol bomb was thrown through a window at the Department of Finance headquarters in Dublin last night.

A small fire broke out after the device was thrown into the building on Merrion Street shortly before 11pm.

Gardaí managed to extinguish the blaze and nobody was injured.

The scene has been sealed off for technical examination.
