Pair arrested in connection with weapons find

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man and a woman following the discovery of firearms and ammunition in Crumlin.

Officers made the find after being called to an incident on Cashel Avenue last night during which time it is believed a firearm was produced.

Gardaí spoke to a number of people at the scene before carrying out a search of the house.

There they found a sawn-off shot gun, a replica AK47 and a replica handgun along with ammunition and a bayonet.

A 33-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested and are now being questioned at Crumlin and Sundrive Road Garda Stations, under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
