Pair arrested after Garda vehicles rammed

Two men have been arrested after a pair of garda vehicles were rammed in Co Louth last night.

As part of Operation Thor, uniformed Gardaí on patrol in the Carlingford area were alerted to a burglary in Willville, Carlingford last night.

Gardaí later recovered a car which had been stolen earlier that day at the scene.

Another burglary was reported nearby and a Toyota car was stolen from that location.

Gardaí from the Regional Response Unit assisted in this investigation and attempted to stop the Toyota car at Millgrange, Carlingford, before the car rammed two Garda vehicles.

Two men in their 20s were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Dundalk Garda Station under the Provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.
