Operation Thor sees two arrested after firearm is found in Cork

A man and a woman, both in their 30s, have been arrested after a shotgun and ammunition were recovered in Co Cork as part of Operation Thor.

A car was stopped by Gardaí from Gurranabraher and Anglesea Street during a checkpoint in Blarney at around 7.30pm yesterday.

The man and woman were arrested at the scene.

They are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Gurranabraher and Mayfield Garda Stations.
