Only one-fifth of obesity proposals implemented

Only one-fifth of recommendations from a national obesity taskforce has been implemented by the Government in recent years, according to a report published today.

The report says just 18 of the 93 recommendations made by the taskforce have been implemented since 2005.

However, speaking at the publication of the figures, Junior Minister Mary Wallace insisted that "significant" progress was being made.
