One dead, another injured, in Cork traffic accident

One person has been killed and another seriously injured on Cork's roads this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the serious collision between a car and truck at the Crookstown exit on the N22 Cork/Macroom road at around 1.30pm.

Two units of the Cork County Fire service from Macroom and Ballincollig responded, while four units of the HSE Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

The road has now been closed and diversions are in place.

The injured person has been taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment.
