The Government has said that negotiations are now underway with more than 108 foreign companies, looking to set up here.
It comes after the first jobs on the Government's "finders fee" scheme were announced today in Carlow.
The scheme offers a financial incentive to people who convince businesses abroad to set up in Ireland.
Eddie Horkan got €45,000 from the Government, after he put the American engineering company InterGeo in touch with Connect Ireland, which has now led to the creation of 30 new jobs in Carlow.
But Eddie says it wasn't the money that motivated him:
"To be quite honest that wasn't the motivator for me….I guess the real motivator is we can make jobs in Ireland, me and ordinary person can make 30 jobs in Carlow and that's fantastic and I don't have to do anything I just make a job and it's that simple"
