A UK-registered fishing vessel has been detained by the LE Aoife off the coast of Cork for allegedly breaching fishing regulations.

It is currently in the process of being handed over to the UK Maritime Management Office and is expected to leave Irish waters and return to port in the UK later this evening.

It brings to 926 the number of vessels boarded by the Naval Service in 2013 and this is the 14th vessel detained by the Naval Service so far this year.
