Motorists urged to take care on roads

Motorists are being advised to take extra care on the roads this morning following wintry showers overnight.

Temperatures dropped to minus five degrees in places last night resulting in icy patches in many parts of the country this morning.

Met Éireann is forecasting more sleet and snow during the next few days.
