More than 5% of Irish people have tried cocaine

More than 5% of people in Ireland say they have used cocaine at least once in their lives, according to survey results published by the National Advisory Committee on Drugs today.

The organisation says young men aged between 15 and 34 are the most regular cocaine users, with most first trying the drug at age 22.

One-quarter of people involved in the survey said they personally know someone who uses cocaine.
