Meath's McElhinney's to reopen, re-hiring 56 workers

Well known women's retailer McElhinney's in Athboy, Co Meath is to reopen its doors.

The shop was forced to close last month after a winding-up application from one of its creditors.

It will reopen next Monday under a new agreement with distributor Flairline and all 56 workers will get their jobs back.

Owner Neal Sweeney admitted the environment remained challenging this year, but said he was hopeful of an "upswing" next year.
