Meath Rose Elysha Brennan crowned Rose of Tralee

Meath Rose Elysha Brennan is the 2015 Rose of Tralee.

Maria Walsh has handed her crown over to the first Royal Rose.

The 22-year-old winner from Bettystown is a second year student at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin.

A shocked Elysha had this to say after receiving the honour:"I’ve never been surrounded by such inspirational, moving, strong, driven, focused, ambitious, wonderful, spectacular young ladies.

"I’m in such good company. Thank you so much.

"I hope to do the Rose of Tralee proud and I have certainly the biggest shoes I’ve ever known to fill after Maria Walsh who had the most incredible year."
