Mayo teenager hospitalised after stabbing

A teenager is in a serious but stable condition in hospital following a serious assault in Mayo.

At around 11pm last night, the 17-year-old boy was seriously injured when he sustained a number of stab wounds during an incident at Railway Walk in Westport.

Three males aged in their late teens were arrested and are currently detained at Westport Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and in particular anyone in the vicinity of Railway Walk between 10.30-11pm last night to contact them.
