The Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin has condemned a bomb attack on an Irish convent in Pakistan earlier this week.
Islamic militants destroyed the Presentation Sisters' school near Islamabad on Monday by bombing it and then setting it on fire.
Five local staff working at the school were also kidnapped.
None of the children were injured.
Mr Martin says that he was deeply saddened to learn of the destruction of the school, which has educated around 1,000 poor children every year since it was established in 1965.
