Man with serious injuries in Kerry hospital; two men arrested

Gardaí say very serious injuries have been inflicted upon the victim of an assault in Tralee.

The man in his twenties was discovered by the emergency services in the front garden of a house in Killeen Woods at 10.30pm last night.

Two men in their late 20s and early 30s, who are both foreign nationals, were arrested near the scene a short time later.

The victim, who is also a foreign national, was taken to Kerry General Hospital where his family are at his side.

Superintendent Jim O'Connor says the two men who were arrested are still being questioned at Tralee Garda Station.

He said: "We are treating in a very serious manner, there are very serious injuries inflicted on this man.

"We believe these injuries were inflicted shortly before the emergency services arrived at the location in Killeen Woods last night at 10.30."
