Man shot in legs by masked gang

A man was dragged from his bed in Derry and shot several times in the legs by a masked gang, police said today.

Several men forced their way into the house at Carrickreagh Gardens in the Creggan area of the city just before 11.30pm yesterday, and carried the man down stairs from the bedroom into the living room where he was shot .

The 24-year-old was hit in both knees and ankles and is being treated in hospital.

Detectives in Derry appealed for anyone who witnessed the shooting or who has any information to contact them.
