Man shot dead in Kildare named as Edward Hamilton

The victim of a fatal shooting in Co Kildare yesterday has been named as 33-year-old Edward Hamilton.

The Kilmeague man was rushed to Naas General Hospital at about 6am yesterday after suffering gunshot wounds.

He died a short time later.

Gardaí say a second man was also admitted to hospital with injuries to his hand.

A legally held shotgun was recovered and gardaí are not ruling out the possibility that the man's death may have been an accident.
