Man held over assault on woman in Dublin

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 30s in connection with a serious assault on a woman in north Dublin last week.

The 35-year-old victim was attacked by a burglar who broke into her home on Prospect Hill in Finglas last Wednesday afternoon.

Gardaí say two of her fingers were cut off during the assault.

A man was arrested this morning and is being detained at Finglas garda station.
