Man held after cannabis and cigarette seizure

Gardaí in Cork have arrested a man in his 30s following a seizure of cannabis and contraband cigarettes.

Cannabis resin with a potential street value of €140,000 and cigarettes with a retail value of €50,000 were found during a search of a house in Ascension Heights in Churchfield last night.

The man is being detained in Gurraunabraher garda station and can be held for up to seven days before he must be charged or released.
