Man due in court over firearm seizure

A 22-year-old man will appear in court this morning, charged in relation to the seizure of a firearm in Dublin earlier this week.

Gardaí found a 9mm handgun, ammunition and a silver silencer during the search of a car in Ballymun on Monday evening.

Two men were arrested at the scene.

One of them, aged 22, will appear in court this morning, while the second man in his 20s has been released without charge.
