Man due in court in connection with assault in Co. Leitrim

A man is due to appear in court tonight charged in connection with a serious assault in Co. Leitrim last month.

A 40-year-old man was assaulted in Carrick-on-Shannon on July 17 and remains in a critical condition at Beaumont Hospital.

Another man and a woman were arrested on July 29 and are before the courts charged in connection with the incident.

The man in his 20s is due before a special sitting of Carrick-on-Shannon District Court this evening.
