Man dies in Tipperary crash

A man was killed and another seriously injured today after the car they were travelling in hit a tree.

The crash happened at Cashel, Co Tipperary, shortly after 7am.

Gardai said the navy Audi A4 car was travelling from Cashel towards Dualla at Ballyheene.

A passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene and there were no other vehicles involved.

The driver is being treated at Clonmel General Hospital for serious injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cashel Garda Station.

The road between Cashel and Dualla is closed and diversions are in place.
