Man dies in Cork road accident

Two people have died on the roads in separate crashes today.

A 31-year-old woman was killed when the car she was driving collided with a tree at Durrow in Co. Offaly at around 8.40am this morning.

Meanwhile in Cork, a 42-year-old man died when his car struck a ditch at Oldchapel on the Bandon to Timoleague Road just after 12pm this afternoon.

The road is currently closed and is expected to be re-opened at around 7pm this evening.
