Man dies, another in hospital, after Wicklow car crash

A man in his 20s has died in a single-vehicle crash in Co. Wicklow.

The 22-year-old was killed when the car he was driving hit a ditch at Milltown Lane, Ashford shortly before midnight.

A 26-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, received minor injuries and was taken to St. Columcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown.

The road is closed for a Garda examination, and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
