Man dies and 11-year-old girl injured following crash between bus and car

Gardai are investigating the death of a man in a crash in Co. Roscommon this morning.

The man who was in his 50's was fatally injured when his car collided with a bus on the R446 at Ballydangan shortly after 10am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Roscommon Hospital.

An 11-year-old girl who was the passenger in the car received minor injuries and was taken to Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe.

The driver of the bus and three out of its 12 passengers were taken to Portiuncula Hospital with minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who was on this stretch of road at the time should contact Roscommon Gardai or the Garda Confidential Line.
