Man dies after Dublin stabbing

A man has died after he was stabbed in Dublin this evening.

Two men - aged 53 and 46 - have been arrested and are currently been detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A 56-year-old man received serious stab wounds following an incident at a flat at Ballybough House in Dublin 1 at approximately 5.10pm this evening.

He was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at approximately 8.45pm.

The scene has been preserved for a Garda technical examination and the services of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau have also been requested.
