Man dies after being hit by car in Co. Offaly

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Co. Offaly this morning.

It happened on the N52, Kilbeggan to Tullamore Road, near Durrow at around 1.40am this morning.

A 26-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was struck by the car, the man driving the car was not injured.

The stretch of road on the N52 has been closed to for a Garda Forensic investigation.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly those who were travelling on the N52 this morning to contact Tullamore Garda station on 057-9327600 The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda station
