Man detained following serious assault in Dublin

Gardaí are continuing to question a 19 year old man in connection with a serious assault in Dublin.

A man in his 20s is fighting for his life following a fight near the Luas stop in rialto at around 5.30am.

It's reported the Crumlin man was injured with a broken bottle and is in an induced coma.

Local Dublin City Councillor Michael O'Sullivan is appealing for anyone with information about the attack to get in touch with Gardaí.

"It's in all our interests that people are allowed to go around the streets safely," he said.
