Man charged in connection with murder of Siobhan Stapleton

A man in his 30s has been charged in connection with the murder of Siobhan Stapleton in Co. Kilkenny.

The 51 year old mother of five was seriously injured at her home at Glebe Lodge, Kilfane near Thomastown, last Friday.

She was taken to hospital - but died as she was being transferred to the Beaumont in Dublin.

Yesterday investigating officers in Thomastown arrested a man in the local area and tonight he has been charged in connection with Mrs Stapleton's murder.

He will appear before a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court later this morning.
