Man charged in connection with horrific attack on artist

A man was remanded in custody today charged with a robbery and assault in which a woman had two fingers cut off.

James Kenny from Eden Block, Prospect Hill, Finglas, north Dublin, was charged with the attack on the woman in the same apartment complex.

Artist Asta Digimaite was robbed and attacked in her home one week ago.

An Apple laptop worth €3,000, a mobile phone worth €200 and an wireless USB modem worth €100 were snatched during the theft, according to the Courts Service.

Kenny, 24, was remanded to in prison to reappear at Cloverhill Courthouse next week.
