Man charged after serious assault

A 23-year-old man was today charged with assaulting a man who was found lying in a garden with serious head injuries.

The 31-year-old was discovered outside a house in Coalisland, Co Tyrone around 10pm on Friday night.

The defendant, who will is due to appear before Enniskillen Magistrates court tomorrow, is charged with grievous bodily harm.

The injured man was rushed from the property at Canal Meadows to hospital in a serious condition.

Today he remained in hospital but it is understood his life is not in danger.
