Man arrested over 2007 drugs and firearms seizure

A man has been arrested in connection with a drugs and firearms seizure in Dublin two years ago.

In October 2007, as part of a planned operation targeting criminality, gardaí searched a house in Tallaght and recovered cannabis and cocaine worth around €60,000 as well as a quantity of cash.

A follow-up search in the Clondalkin and Walkinstown areas uncovered a number of firearms and ammunition along with a quantity of cocaine with an estimated street value of €500,000.

Gardaí at Pearse Street made the latest arrest this morning.

The man, who is in his 20s, is the second person to be charged in connection with the seizures.

He is due to appear at Dublin District Court later today.
