Man arrested in connection with killing of elderly man in Offaly

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Thomas 'Toddy' Dooley in Edenderry, Co Offaly earlier this month.

The 64-year-old was found dead in his home in Sister Senan Court on February 16. He had sustained injuries to his head and body.

The 19-year-old was detained this morning in Edenderry and is being held at Tullamore Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
