Man arrested in connection with heroin find

A man in his 40s has been arrested today following a major heroin seizure in Limerick.

Some €700,000 worth of the drug was seized, along with smaller quantities of cocaine, cannabis herb and ecstasy, after gardaí raided an apartment on the Ennis Road in the city this afternoon.

Two semi-automatic pistols and a quantity of ammunition were also seized in the search.

The man is being questioned at Henry Street garda station in Limerick city.
